MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — There's a haze drifting over the Carolinas because of a big wildfire in Canada , and some early risers in Myrtle Beach spotted a vivid red sun Tuesday morning. Michelle Jones shared a video on Twitter with the sun rising over the South Carolina coast, saying she had 'never seen one quite like this.' Severe Weather Center 9′s Keith Monday says the wildfire smoke has drifted down past Charlotte and to the Carolina coast, which is producing the deep red hues from the sun. If the haze sticks around through the evening like expected, be prepared for a colorful sunset around Charlotte and the North Carolina mountains.
